He completed his PhD under Professor Michael Stowasser and has continued research projects in distal tubular sodium and potassium handling and blood pressure as well as clinical nephrology. He is associated with the University of Queensland Hypertension Research Centre at Greenslopes and Princess Alexandra Hospitals and with the department of Renal medicine at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s hospital, and has academic and teaching roles in the University of Queensland Office of Medical Education.
