Sensitivity refers to a test’s ability to detect that an individual has a disease or condition. It is also called the “True Positivity Rate” (TPR) and represents the proportion of test samples that are genuinely positive among all positive results. A highly sensitive test means that there are few false negative results, and thus fewer cases of the disease are missed.
